Installation Style

Top Mount/inset

A top mount kitchen sink, also known as an inset sink, a drop-in sink or an overmount sink drops in to a hole created in the worktop. The sink has a rim which overlaps and rests on the worktop. The style of the rim can vary from curved and raised to flat, almost flush with the worktop.

Gleaming stainless steel sinks, resistant granite sinks or glossy ceramic sinks In any worktop you like. The choice is yours!

  • Can be used with any worktop including laminate

  • Range of finishes in stainless steel, ceramic, granite and glass

  • Suitable in both traditional and contemporary kitchens

  • Available in single, one and a half and double bowl versions

Undermount

An undermount sink is installed directly under the worktop in a section that has been specially cut out for that purpose. Undermount installation is only possible with water-resistant worktops.

  • Can be used with solid worktops only ie granite, stone, composite or stainless steel. Cannot be used with wooden or laminate worktops

  • Range of finishes in ceramic, stainless steel, granite

  • Available in single, one and a half and double bowl versions

  • No drainer

Belfast/Butler/Sit On

Sometimes called an apron-front sink, a sit-on kitchen sink does exactly that. The sink sits on a base cabinet, protrudes a little from the kitchen units, is made of ceramic or stainless steel, is easy to clean and makes an eye-catching feature in your kitchen.

  • Can be used with worktops made of composites, stone, glass or wood.

  • Ceramic or stainless steel finish

  • The ceramic version creates a country-style feel in your kitchen while the updated stainless steel version is equally at home in a sleek, modern kitchen

  • Available in single, one and a half and double bowl versions

  • No drainer


Material Choice - composition

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel sinks come in a variety of 'gauges'. Domestic kitchen sinks are generally available in 18 or 20 gauge, with 18 being the heavier of the two. Stainless steel can come with a number of different finishes, including a brushed metal or polished look.

  • Will not tarnish

  • Easy to clean

  • Incredibly robust

  • Can be used in any installation type, undermount, top mount or belfast

  • Single, 1 1/2 or double bowls

  • Usually have an inbuilt drainer


Ceramic

Ceramic is made from a natural mix of clay & raw materials such as quartz or chamotte and then hot-fired to develop incredible properties.

  • Robust and long lasting

  • Hygienic

  • Easy care

  • Heat resistant to 280degrees

  • Single, 1 1/2 or double bowls

  • Multiple colour choice

  • Gloss or Matte finish

  • Models available with or without drainer

Composite

Granite composite kitchen sinks are perhaps the trendiest sinks around. Silgranit (Blanco) is a granite composite material containing 80% granite dust. It has the look and feel of stone, but it's much more durable and easier to maintain.

  • highly resistant to heat, scratches, and stains.

  • Blanco's granite composite sinks are much quieter than stainless steel.

  • huge variety of styles and finishes available

  • colours ranging from a classic black to a light cream, and even pink and green, there really is a finish that will suit every kitchen décor.

  • Granite composite sinks, like stainless steel sinks, can be mounted in numerous ways, whether top mount or undermount.
